If you’ve been contemplating switching to a red dot on your pistol or, you already have one but haven’t quite got comfortable with the new sighting system yet, this is the class for you!
We developed the Red Dot Pistol class as a day-long course to introduce the core fundamentals and techniques for using a red dot sight for pistol shooting.
At the beginning of this class, we’ll take time to ensure your red dot optic is mounted properly and sighted in. Once that’s done, we’ll dive into the fundamentals of shooting with a red dot pistol sight. This class will cover firearms safety, pistol shooting fundamentals, advantages of a red dot sight, proper pistol presentation and much more.
You can expect to learn about:
- Components and terminology associated with firearms
- Trauma casualty care
- Concepts and principals
- Red Dot Sight Picture
- Trigger control
- Drawing from a holster
- Malfunction mitigation
- Defensive shooting
By the end of this class, you should be comfortable with quickly finding the red dot in your sight picture, understand the benefits and advantages of the red dot and should be able to employ the red dot efficiently.
All shooting for this class will be drawing from outside the waistband, not concealed.
Must be 21 years old to attend this course.
Students are required to bring:
- Semi-Automatic Handgun with red dot sight
- Three or more magazines
- Leather or Kydex Holster (Outside the Waistband)
- Magazine Pouches
- Sturdy Belt
- Ear Protection
- Eye Protection
- 200 Rounds of factory ammunition
- Athletic shoes or boots
- Appropriate range clothing (Shorts okay during summer months)
Students are recommended to bring:
- Billed hat
- Notepad and pen
- Lawn chair
- Rain gear
- Water / Water bottle
- Lunch and snacks
- Extra battery for your red dot sight
